Eternity Rings. Eternity rings are usually not used a wedding and rings and instead are anniversary gifts appropriate for 25th, 50th and 60th anniversaries. Eternity rings are usually in yellow gold, white gold or platinum and have diamonds set all the way around the circumference of the band. Because the diamond is the ultimate expression of love and commitment and the build of eternity rings, they are now popular wedding rings because of the symbolism imbued in these rings.
Engraved rings. Rings with engravings in them date back to 16th and 17th century England and France where they were known as “Poesy Rings.” While initially they were a form of promise ring, the poesy ring became an engagement ring in which poetry was engraved in the ring, along with the names of the couple. Modern rings echo their older counterparts and feature lyrical poetry, names and dates of significance along the interior of the band, although some people opt to have the poetry where it is visible, such as along the side or atop the band.
Simple, unadorned rings. With the desire for simplicity that came with the current economic environment, brides are opting for a simple, sleek ring that is made of a single metal. In addition to being a reflection of simple beauty, these rings are also the most traditional rings.
Two-tone rings. Two tone wedding rings are a new phenomenon that recently has picked up speed. These rings are made up of two or more metals or shades of a single metal, such as tungsten and steel or different shades of gold, and feature engravings and sometimes gemstones as well.
