New Stones

I got some new sunstones yesterday - all are a tad lighter in person than in the pics (on my monitor at least)...

Oregon sunstone, 5.5mm (0.53 carat)

This will hopefully inspire me to buy the $350 tool I need to set square cushion cut gemstones (and practice, practice, practice my technique - other shapes are harder to set than rounds...)

And finally a lone Arizona garnet (5.5mm; 0.73 carat)

I cannot tell you how much I looooove working with Zultanite. It is awesome! And I love combining it with green gold - I think it brings out the greens in the stone so nicely.

The other day I got a bee in my bonnet about trying some really simple ring designs that would simply and elegantly showcase the various kinds of gold I work with. Here's what I came up with -
