Halloween in Hollywood means one thing: Heidi Klum's annual Halloween bash. And while the D-list dared to dress-up in droves this year, I'm still looking for a crazy jewelry juggernaut costume like Paris Hilton's diamond display from last year.
Alas.

Diamond jewelry made a sparkling appearance at the finale of MTV’s TRL last night– from Hilary Duff’s gorgeous white and black diamond fan earrings to Nelly’s icey dog tags.
For those of you who have been able to successfully ignore the MTV phenomenon over the past ten years, TRL is short for “Total Request Live”, an American Bandstand-type show that helped artists promote their latest offerings and gave screaming fans a chance to burst their vocal chords.
Host Carson Daly (the MTV generation’s Dick Clark) welcomed back a dazzling list of performers, including a gorgeous Beyonce, a blinged out 50 Cent, Kid Rock, Christina Aguilera and my favorite boy band graduate, the cute-as-a-button, Justin Timberlake.
Another highlight was Blink 182’s Travis Barker, who appeared via satellite from Los Angeles in his first televised interview since surviving his Sept. 19 plane crash.
"Every day gets better. I feel better every day," he told fans. "I'm already playing my drums again and am back in the studio. I'm thankful to be able to play."
Former host and Nick Lachey main squeeze, Vanessa Manillo, appeared in glittering diamond star drop earrings but unfortunately wore a dress that Paris Hilton made famous on the David Letterman show a few weeks back. Ouch. New stylist, anyone?
But perhaps the night’s most talked about performance was a surprisingly tight showing by the only boy band still standing, The Backstreet Boys. Also surprising was how I found myself singing every word to their hit, “I Want It That Way”, while watching last night.
OK. Maybe it’s not that surprising…
While youngsters like singer, Taylor Swift, remember coming of age to this television classic, many musicians experienced career-changing experiences on the show.
Perhaps a resurfaced Eminem said it best when he phoned in and said, “I feel like they’re tearing down my home.”
Not to worry JT fans. It’s not THE diamond. Not yet, anyway. Superstar lovebirds Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel made their Roman holiday a lot brighter this week with a stop at an exclusive, unmarked jewelry store that specializes in pieces from the 1950s and 1970s.
People Magazine reports that Justin picked up a diamond bracelet and a diamond right hand ring for his talented love interest – both from the 1970s.
The couple spent about an hour in the shop and asked the sales assistant to empty the safe with all their best merchandise. Biel apparently tried on every piece in the store before making her selections.
A woman after my own heart! At one point, Justin started serenading her with a song from her latest film – a period piece called Easy Virtue – while Biel tried on a vintage diamond necklace from the 17th century.
Yes, that’s gag-worthy it’s so cute, and yes it’s my personal fantasy come to life.
"I could tell they had very refined taste because they asked about the history of all the jewelry," shop owner Nicola Boncompagni told People. She added that the couple seemed "shy but in love."

So are wedding bells in their future? A recent quote from the actress reveals her ambivalence.
“The actual idea of signing those papers and doing all this stuff ... I’ve never been someone who’s like, ‘I have to, have to, have to have it.' But the idea of being with somebody I care about, who is my soul mate, that sounds groovy!”
So does a lifetime of JT serenades and jewelry shopping sprees. Get into the groove, girlfriend!
Jewelry hounds, it’s been a busy weekend. With Fashion Week kicking off in New York on Friday, and MTV’s Video Music Awards tonight, we’re suffering from a serious case of whiplash. The good news is - the party circuit and the red carpet are buzzing with THE jewelry look we’ve been tracking for you already.
Delicate chains and tasteful studs – move over! Big, beefy, gaudy, and loud are making their mark. The must-have fall trend is (of course) the statement costume necklace, and we caught the look all over the place.
Elie Tahari featured it on the runway for his Spring 2009 collection (hint: the trend has legs for next season), Charlize Theron rocked it at the Fashion Rocks event at Radio City Music Hall, Rachel Hunter wore it to Justin Timberlake’s highly anticipated William Rast show, and Blake Lively used it to make her unfortunate green jumpsuit feel like it made sense somehow at Miss Sixty.
But where to find this must-have for fall if you don’t have a tent pass or a personal stylist? Easy. Vintage and thrift stores should get a lot of traffic this season. So should your grandmother’s jewelry box. But don’t forget to track down local jewelry designers, who are using everything from beads and plastic to crystals and precious gemstones to put their unique stamp on the look.
Sorry, Anna and Leon. It looks like jewelry’s fashion forward belongs to the people this year!
